Insight TV hires for Lat Am push

Netherlands-based broadcaster and distributor Insight TV is expanding its operations in Latin America and hiring a former TRX executive to oversee programme sales there.

Raquel Yepes is joining the new Lat Am team as head of programme sales, while local agency 2Be Named has been retained to lead linear and digital channel carriage expansion in the region.

Marco Ibarra and Edgar Spielmann, co-founders of 2Be Named, along with Yepes, will report to Marco Frazier, the former AMC exec appointed senior VP of Insight TV Studios US in January.

Before joining Insight, Yepes was a consultant to the London-based company TRX – The Rights Exchange, responsible for acquiring content for TRX online marketplace serving the Lat Am and the US Hispanic markets.

She was also a consultant to Spain’s Factoria Plural where she was charged with identifying new opportunities for formats and coproductions. Prior to that, Yepes was director of international sales and coproductions at Brazilian production company Zola.

She also ran new business development at High Hill Entertainment, Zodiak and Plural – Grupo Prisa. She is based in both Bogota, Colombia and Miami, Florida.

2Be Named is a Lat Am-focused company launched in 2019 and has offices in Chile, Mexico and Atlanta.

“Since launching Insight TV Studios US last fall, we have been focused on expanding our footprint both in the US and Canada,” said Frazier.

“As a natural extension of our expansion efforts in North America, we have enlisted Raquel and Marco, Edgar and their team at 2Be Named to introduce Insight TV to the Latin American market. Their considerable experience and expertise working with media platforms and programmers in the market will be key to helping us achieve our aggressive sales goals in the region.”
