Insight TV flies with drone show

The show will explore how drone pilots struggle with urban regulations

Global ultra-high-definition (UHD) broadcaster Insight TV is launching a documentary series exploring the world of professional drone racing.

Droners (5×22’) will meet the top six pilots from the emerging drone community. The series will travel from New York to Hong Kong to witness the pilots and how they struggle with urban regulations restricting the niche sport.

Drone flying recently garnered negative headlines in the UK after hundreds of flights were cancelled at Gatwick airport around Christmas 2018 following reports of drone sightings close to the runway.

Insight will also launch and a one-off special Into the Volcano (1×44’), which will see a team of droners travel to an active volcano and attempt to fly their drones inside a lava pit, in the name of science.
