Indian, Turkish firms prep kids’ copro

Briko will be released next year

Indian animation firm Toonz Media Group and Turkish entertainment group Fauna Entertainment are coproducing a CGI animation and live-action kids’ adventure series.

Aimed at kids aged four to seven, Briko follows the adventures of the titular curious young boy and his best friend, a hyperactive rabbit called Hepi.

In each episode, Briko and Hepi come across a surprise box, which they are challenged to open in a different way every time. Once they have opened it, they use the everyday objects inside to create, make or invent games, gadgets, tools or other objects.

Each animated episode will be supported by a standalone live-action tutorial to show kids how to make the item in the corresponding episode. Toonz will handle animation production on the show while Fauna will be responsible for script development and live-action elements.

Both companies will share ownership of the IP. Toonz has worldwide distribution rights across all platforms, except in Turkey where Fauna owns all rights.

Briko is entering the production stage, with its first episodes to be shown at MipJunior and Mipcom in Cannes later this year, following the release of the trailer in June. Full delivery will be in the fourth quarter of 2020.
