IM Global TV brings iSteve to MipTV

MIPTV: US producer and distributor IM Global Television has unveiled a feature-length parody show from comedy web portal Funny Or Die as part of its MipTV slate.

iSteve, starring Justin Long (New Girl, He’s Just Not That Into You) and written and directed by Ryan Perez (Saturday Night Live), tells “an obscure tale of the late and great Apple founder” Steve Jobs based on Wikipedia ‘facts.’

Elsewhere, Litton Entertainment’s unscripted show Save Our Shelter follows pet expert Rocky Kanaka and renovation specialist Rob North as they renovate animal shelters, while Justice Served: Murderous Affairs is from Bellum Entertainment and explores the lives of a team investigating crimes of passion.

Also on the slate is footage-based series Shocked, along with titles such as survival show Aftermath and The Wedding Ringers, about three couples who compete to throw the best wedding, from The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC).

The US producer and distributor agreed its first unscripted TV output deal with the firm last week.

“From library films, to scripted content, to digital events and unscripted formats, ours is a young but diverse slate of content from the highest-quality creators in their respective fields and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce it to the world at MipTV 2016,” said Eli Shibley, IM Global Television president of international distribution and coproductions.

wild_thingsIM Global launched the distribution arm of its TV business last year, hiring former Electus exec Shibley to run it. The division handles international rights to IM Global Television’s scripted slate and is acquiring third-party scripted and unscripted projects from the US, the UK and elsewhere.

IM Global already operated an international film sales and distribution business with a library of more than 250 titles and has financed more than 20 features.
