IFC spreads Toast in US

AMC Networks-owned US cablenet IFC has picked up all three seasons of UK comedy Toast of London.

The half-hour comedy, which is produced by Objective Fiction, part of All3Media’s Objective Media Group, was originally commissioned by UK commercial pubcaster Channel 4.

Toast of London is written by its creators, Arthur Mathews and Matt Berry (The IT Crowd), who also stars. The Bafta-winning comedy follows Berry’s Steven Toast, an eccentric middle-aged actor with a sketchy past who spends more time dealing with his problems off stage than performing on it.

Three six-episode seasons have been broadcast on C4. It will begin airing on IFC in 2019.
