IFC orders more Azaria comedy

AMC Networks-owned US cablenet IFC has ordered a second season of Brockmire from producer Funny Or Die and executive producer Hank Azaria (The Simpsons).

Brockmire stars Azaria as a famed major league baseball announcer who suffered a notorious public breakdown after stumbling upon his wife’s infidelity and is looking to turn his life around.

IFC has ordered an 8×30′ second season that is due to air next year. The first run began in the US this week, with IFC making the first episode available online for free in advance of its linear premiere.

The show originally appeared as a short video on the comedy website Funny Or Die.
