Hulu takes Terranoa docs

Paris-based distributor Terranoa has sold two documentary series to US subscription VoD platform Hulu and signed package deals in Latin America and Russia.

Hulu has picked up six-hour wildlife series Saved From Extinction, produced by FL Concept for France 5, as well as 10-hour discovery series The Alps From Above, made by Vidicom Media for Arte.

Saved From Extinction, which was acquired by CCTV9 in China during Mipcom, is part of a 30-hour discovery and wildlife programming package deal that Terranoa has inked with First HD Russia.

Meanwhile, Brazil’s Globosat has picked up eight hours of Terranoa’s wildlife, civilisation, culture and historical docs, while Canal 22 in Mexico has taken 30 hours.

Both deals include one-off primetime doc Picasso: The Legacy, produced by Gédéon Programmes and Welcome for Arte, which Terranoa premiered during TV France International’s Le Rendez-Vous in September.

The documentary, which was coproduced with Australia’s SBS, Canada’s ARTV, The Netherlands’ Avro and Belgium’s RTBF, has also been sold to Sky Art in Italy, Sweden’s SVT, Norway’s NRK, VRT in Belgium and Switzerland’s TSR.
