Hulu, Super Channel meet Okine’s Other Guy

US streamer Hulu and Super Channel in Canada have acquired a semi-autobiographical comedy-drama from Australia created by and starring local comedian Matt Okine.

The Other Guy (6×30’) was originally created for SVoD service Stan and is written by Okine and Becky Lucas, script produced by Greg Waters and directed by Kacie Anning.

It was produced by Aquarius Films and Entertainment One (eOne) and received funding from Screen Australia and Create NSW. eOne is distributing the series internationally.

The series follows a successful radio host (Okine) who finds himself unexpectedly back in the dating pool after discovering his long-term girlfriend has been cheating on him with his best friend. It was one of the most binged titles on Stan last year.

The show also stars Valene Kane from The Fall and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Season two of The Other Guy is currently in development with Stan and Create NSW. Season one will begin streaming on Hulu from June 28 and will premiere on Super Channel on August 13.
