Steve Martin and Martin Short

Hulu has commissioned a comedy series starring Steve Martin and Martin Short from This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman.

The as-yet untitled half-hour project centres on three strangers whose shared obsession with true crime gets them entangled in one.

Martin and John Hoffman (Grace & Frankie) are the co-creators and will exec produce alongside Fogelman via 20th Century Fox TV, with which the latter signed an overall deal last year.

The straight-to-series order was among a string of announcements at Hulu’s Television Critics Association press tour in the US.

The Disney-owned streamer also unveiled kids’ series ordered Madagascar: A Little Wild, TrollsTopia and The Mighty Ones, and season two renewals of comedy Dollface and drama Wu-Tang: An American Saga.
