Hulu finds change for Brassic

Sky1 comedy Brassic made its debut last August

NATPE: Disney-owned US streaming service Hulu has acquired original Sky comedy Brassic in one of a clutch of deals announced by ITV Studios in Miami.

Brassic was produced by Calamity Films for Sky1 in the UK and written by Bafta winner Danny Brocklehurst. It premiered in August last year and a second season has been greenlit.

The show follows Vinnie and his five friends in a provincial UK town, leading a life of petty crime to keep money in their pockets.

Elsewhere, ITV Studios has sold Gold Digger, a character-driven relationship thriller from Mainstreet Pictures for BBC1, to AMC Networks-owned streaming service Acorn TV.

Featuring Primetime Emmy winner Julia Ormond (Sabrina, Legends of the Fall) and Ben Barnes (Westworld, Chronicles of Narnia), the show will get a US and Canadian premiere this summer.

BritBox In North America has come on board six-part mystery series McDonald & Dodds as a coproducer. The show Is from Mammoth Screen for UK commercial broadcaster ITV and follows a pair of mismatched police detectives.

Anonymous Content and MultiStory Media’s police procedural Wild Bill, which also aired on ITV and stars Rob Lowe, is also heading the way of the UK-content focused streaming service.
