Hulu embraces Solar Opposites

US streamer Hulu has made a two-season order for an adult animated comedy from the creators of hit series Rick & Morty.

Solar Opposites is co-created by Justin Roiland and executive produced by Mike McMahan, who have the same credits on Adult Swim’s Rick & Morty.

20th Century Fox TV is producing the 16-episode order, with the show set to air in 2019. It follows a family of aliens who move to Middle America, with Roiland among the voice cast alongside Sean Giambrone and Mary Mack.

Roiland and McMahan will continue to work on Rick & Morty, which was recently renewed in a 70-episode order from Turner-owned US cablenet Adult Swim.
