Hulu acquires Jeopardy! in SVoD first

Long-running US gameshow Jeopardy!

US streamer Hulu has picked up Jeopardy!, marking the classic quizshow’s first ever SVoD deal.

The show is produced by Sony Pictures Television and involves the answers being presented to contestants before they are asked to supply the questions.

It originally aired on NBC between 1964 and 1975 and has been in syndication for 35 years.

Hulu has curated 60 episodes of some of the show’s flagship special events to mark its arrival on the platform. These include a Tournament of Champions, a College Championship, a Kids Week and Battle of the Decades presenting some of the show’s most memorable contestants from over the years.

Jeopardy! is distributed in the US by CBS Television Distribution and internationally by CBS Television International.

The show has won numerous awards over the years, including the 2017 Emmy for Outstanding Game Show. Its 35th anniversary season will premiere on Monday September 10.
