Call the Midwife’s eighth season ended in January

Chinese OTT service Huawei Video has entered the Latin American market with launches in Colombia, Chile and Mexico.

The platform will provide users with access to more than 300 hours of content from the BBC, DailyMotion and Toon Goggles, as well as offering a free month’s subscription to Filmbox and a seven-day free trial of VoD service Qello.

The Chinese service recently signed a multi-territory content licensing deal with BBC Studios to add series including Call the Midwife, Ghosts and Wonders of the Solar System to its global offering.

Additionally, SPI/FilmBox also recently penned a deal to bring its FilmBox On Demand content to Huawei Video in 23 countries, including the UK, Germany, France, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Poland, Turkey and Russia.

Huawei Video offers a number of subscription packages, with the service available via a free AVoD model, or via a paid monthly subscription. There is also the option to rent single titles from its library. The service launched in China in 2017 and is also available in a number of European countries.
