Turkish broadcaster Kanal D has commissioned a local version of classic US medical drama House MD.

Red Arrow Studios-owned Karga Seven Pictures Turkey, the Turkish arm of US prodco Karga Seven Pictures, is working on Hekimoğlu.

The remake will star Turkish actor Timuçin Esen in the lead role of Ateş Hekimoğlu. Other cast members include Okan Yalabık, Ebru Özkan, Kaan Yıldırım, Damla Colbay and Aytaç Şaşmaz’ın.

The series is written by Banu Kiremitçi Bozkurt and directed by Hülya Gezer, with Karga Seven’s Ömer Özgüner and Ümmü Burhan serving as executive producers.

Karga Seven Pictures Turkey secured the rights to House MD from NBCUniversal International Formats.

Universal Television produced the original series of House MD for the Fox Network in the US. Starring Hugh Laurie throughout its eight seasons between 2004 and 2012, the drama won five Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globes and a Peabody Award. The format has also been adapted in Russia.

Karga Seven Pictures Turkey launched in 2017. Current projects include new Netflix limited series Ottoman Rising (working title) and drama series Her Yerde Sen (Fox Turkey).
