Hopster strikes STV deal

In the Night Garden is now available on STV Player

Preschool VoD service Hopster has agreed a deal with Scottish media company STV that will see Hopster content made available on streaming platform STV Player.

Under the pact, series such as In the Night Garden will be freely accessible to STV Player users in a Hopster-branded children’s area within the platform.

Hundreds of episodes from other titles, including science shows Little Malabar and Story Bots and animations like Punky, will sit alongside interactive content such as nursery rhymes and music and video books.

The Hopster children’s area is now available on STV Player at stv.tv and on a variety of platforms including iPhones and iPads, Android tablets and smartphones and selected smart TVs.

STV recently hired Richard Williams from multichannel operator UKTV as MD of its newly created digital division. The company has switched its focus to digital in recent months, with linear channels and executive jobs lost in May as part of a restructure following the departure of MD Alan Clements in April.
