HITN launches preschool SVoD service

The Furchester Hotel is among the titles available on Edye

Spanish-language broadcaster HITN has launched its new SVoD service for preschoolers in the US and Latin America after partnering with OTT platform Claro Video.

Edye is now available in the US via HITN as well as in Mexico and across Latin America on América Móvil subsidiary Claro Video, which has added it to its educational and entertainment offering.

The service features programming including Sesame Street, The Furchester Hotel, Bob the Builder, Sarah & Duck and Elmo’s World, with such shows available on-demand alongside educational guides in Spanish to help parents discuss the content with their kids.

HITN will also add a variety of educational games and electronic books to the service in the future, the company said.

Over the course of this year, Edye will continue to expand its distribution via other pay TV, internet and mobile phone providers in the US and Puerto Rico, it added.

“This new platform offers the type of entertainment Mexican parents want for their kids: content that promotes formative values and education in a safe space, carefully selected by a professional team who are parents themselves,” said Guillermo Sierra, general manager of television and digital services at HITN.
