MIPCOM: Distributor Cineflix Rights has presold historical documentary The Day Hitler Died to a number of broadcasters in Europe and Scandinavia.

The Day Hitler Died first aired on ITV in the UK and Smithsonian in the US

RMC Découverte in France, SVT in Sweden, NRK in Norway, NTV in Germany and Discovery in Poland have all come onboard the one-hour special.

The doc was made by Glasgow-based Finestripe Productions for ITV in the UK and Smithsonian Networks in the US.

The film includes recently rediscovered but previously unbroadcast eyewitness accounts, as well as archive footage and reconstruction to offer a new account of Hitler’s final days.

“The Day Hitler Died has a combination of exclusive revelations and extensive research to provide a brand new account of what happened in Berlin 70 years ago,” said Chris Bonney, CEO rights at Cineflix Media.

“Given its timeliness and Finestripe’s reputation for high-quality blue-chip programming, we’re seeing a lot of interest at Mipcom and expect to close further deals at the market.”
