History boards Air Force One for 9/11 doc

The two-parter will take viewers inside Air Force One

A+E Networks-owned channel History has commissioned a documentary about the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the US from Red Arrow Studios company Left/Right.

9/11: Inside Air Force One recounts how the attacks unfolded from the perspective of those aboard the presidential plane, as well as taking viewers into command centres and underground bunkers across the US.

The two-hour doc, which will premiere on the 18th anniversary of the tragedy next month, will feature interviews with former president George W Bush, his vice-president Dick Cheney and chief of staff Andy Card, plus the pilot of Air Force One, secret service agents and intelligence and military aides on board.

The doc also reveals the formerly top-secret and recently declassified transcript of the conversation among the nation’s military and civilian high command that took place on the day, known as the Air Threat Conference Call.

Exec producing the programme for Left/Right are Ken Druckerman, Banks Tarver and Jeff Cooperman. Zachary Behr is exec producing for History.
