High School Musical returns to TV

High School Musical 4, the latest instalment of the Mouse House’s multi-million dollar kids franchise, will premiere on Disney Channel in 2010, marking a return to TV for the series.

The first High School Musical movie premiered in 2006 on Disney Channel in the US, with a second original TV movie following in 2007.

Walt Disney Pictures debuted High School Musical 3: Senior Year in cinemas in October 2008, and it has gone on to gross more than US$250m at box offices around the world.

Peter Barsocchini, who wrote the previous three movies in the franchise, will return as screenwriter, while Bill Borden and Barry Rosenbush return as the executive producers.
