Building Alaska has had its run extended

US cable broadcaster Scripps Networks’ channels HGTV and DIY Network have ordered five more seasons of existing shows, including one about construction in Alaska.

DIY has extended the run of Building Alaska, which follows adventurers building cabins in the remote US state, along with Garage Gold and property series Texas Flip and Move.

Meanwhile, HGTV has ordered more episodes of its fantasy living series Island Hunters, which follows people looking for their own island, and Island Life, about those moving for a quieter life.
