Henson, Roku partner for AVoD launch

The Hoobs will be made available again under the Roku deal

The Jim Henson Company (TJHC) has partnered with set-top box company Roku to bring hundreds of hours of kids and family programming to the US and UK.

TJHC has licensed family-friendly content including multiple Henson classics which launch on The Roku Channel today.

These include Mother Goose Stories and The Wubbulous World of Dr Seuss, as well as several titles available for the first time in years, such as Animal Show and The Hoobs.

“Henson’s partnership with Roku is our first big step back into the AVoD market, providing hundreds of hours of our classic content to families,” said Anna Moorefield, VP of global distribution at TJHC.

Other titles being made available include Construction Site, Mopatop’s Shop, The Secret Life of Toys, Telling Stories with Tomie de Paola, Brats of the Lost Nebula, The Ghosts of Faffner Hall and Hi Opie.

Titles available from Henson Independent Properties, the company’s third-party distribution label, include Elias: Rescue Team Adventure and The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin.
