Australian actor Hemsworth, best known for portraying Thor in multiple Marvel movies, will host Limitless, a science-focused series from Jane Root’s Nutopia and filmmaker Darren Aronofsky’s Protozoa Pictures.

The show will follow Hemsworth as he aims to discover how to live healthier, smarter and longer. In each episode, he will try a different way of boosting his longevity, including recovering from damage, supercharging his memory and building resilience.

Hemsworth, Root and Aronofsky will exec produce the series alongside Arif Nurmohamed, Ari Handel, Ben Grayson, Matt Renner and Bengt Anderson, with Ruth Shurman showrunning.

Meanwhile, Wonder Woman star Gadot is producing a shortform docuseries for Nat Geo titled #impact. The six-part digital series will tell the stories of young women who have risen to challenges and overcome obstacles.

The series will be produced by Entertainment One, Pilot Wave Motion Pictures and RPC Films, with director Vanessa Roth exec producing alongside Gadot, Jaron Varsano, Tara Long, Ryan Pallota, Ana De Diego, Eric Levin and Ryan Harrington.

In addition, Nat Geo-produced Disney+ series The World According to Jeff Goldblum has been renewed for a second season.

The show, Nat Geo’s first original production for the new streamer, sees the quirky Jurassic Park star travel through the US as he looks into topics from ice-cream and coffee to sneakers.

A 10-episode season is currently in the works with Nutopia’s Root and Nurmohamed exec producing alongside Goldblum and Keith Addis.

Elsewhere, Nat Geo has renewed docuseries Life Below Zero, adventure docuseries Running Wild with Bear Grylls and Keegan-Michael Key-fronted gameshow Brain Games.

Nat Geo has partnered with BBC Studios to extend popular docuseries Life Below Zero, which focuses on those who live off-grid in harsh conditions. The deal includes two new seasons of the original show as well as a new run of spin-off Life Below Zero: Port Protection and new eight-part spin-off Life Below Zero: Next Generation, which will premiere in 2021.

Running Wild with Bear Grylls returns for its sixth season, having moved to Nat Geo from NBC last year, while Brain Games has been handed a second season ahead of its premiere this month.
