Hegedus plunges into 3 Rivers

Viasat UK exec Beata Hegedus has joined 3 Rivers, the Dutch media consultancy behind Warner Bros’ acquisition of Shed Media, to head its new UK office.

Hegedus will lead the London-based team in a newly-created role that sees her work with international firms as they look to acquire production and distribution companies in the UK.

3 Rivers, established in 2007 by Oege Boonstra and Meindert Landsmeer, was instrumental in Warner Bros/Shed deal and also carried out the strategic review of independent producer Monkey Kingdom ahead of its sale to NBCUniversal.

Other clients on the Amsterdam-based company’s roster include Viasat parent Modern Times Group (MTG), Endemol and All3Media.

Most recently, Hegedus was VP of formats and entertainment at Viasat Broadcasting UK, where she helped identify M&A opportunities for the group in the UK and US.

Prior to Viasat, Hegedus established and managed Debmar-Mercury International, the UK branch of Lionsgate’s syndicated business arm Debmar-Mercury.

This followed a stint with Fox TV Studios, where she was responsible for sourcing scripted and unscripted ideas for production in the US.

Hegedus said the new job would allow her to “build on my recent experience of mergers and acquisitions, while offering me a fascinating and multifaceted role with a focus on the UK and US markets.”
