HBO’s Root joins Drama Summit

CONTENT LONDON: Antony Root, executive VP of original programming and production at HBO Europe, has joined the line-up for the International Drama Summit.

Root will join a panel at the summit, taking place between November 29 and December 1, discussing original programming within the 15 local European markets that HBO has a presence in.

HBO Europe recently announced plans to expand its CEE production drive around the continent including a move into Scandinavia.

Root’s former roles include: president of Granada Entertainment USA, based in Los Angeles; senior VP of European production for Sony Pictures Television; and director of Industry Week at the RomaFictionFest.

He started his career at the BBC before moving to ITV and then Working Title Television, and subsequently was appointed head of drama at Thames Television. He is a graduate of Cambridge University.

The International Drama Summit takes place at Picturehouse Central in London’s West End, with the venue opening for registration and the opening night party on November 28. You can find out more about the event and register online by clicking here.
