HBO to undergo more In Treatment

Gabriel Byrne starred in the earlier seasons of the US In Treatment

US cablenet HBO has ordered a fourth season of drama series In Treatment, 10 years after the airing of season three.

Based on Israeli drama series BeTipul, In Treatment follows a psychotherapist and their weekly sessions with patients, as well as those with their own therapist at the end of the week.

The first three seasons of the US adaptation ran on HBO from 2008 until 2010.

Now after a decade-long break, production of a fourth season is slated to begin this fall under Covid-19 safety guidelines, with a debut scheduled for 2021.

Uzo Aduba (Orange is the New Black) will play the lead role of the therapist in season four. Gabriel Byrne took the role in the first three seasons.

HBO Entertainment is producing the series in association with Leverage, Closest to the Hole Productions and Israel’s Sheleg.

Exec producers are Stephen Levinson, Mark Wahlberg, Hagai Levi, Jennifer Schuur, Joshua Allen and Melissa Bernstein, with Joanne Toll and Noa Tishby serving as co-executive producers.
