HBO sticks with Succession

Succession launched on HBO last June

HBO has ordered a third season of Will Ferrell-backed drama series Succession, which is currently in its second run on the US cablenet.

Succession explores wealth, power and family and was created by Jesse Armstrong (Peep Show). Featuring an ensemble cast including Hiam Abbass, Nicholas Braun and Brian Cox, it has been nominated for five Emmys this year.

“In today’s world where the intersection of politics and media is increasingly prevalent, Succession presents an especially piercing look behind the curtain of this elite, influential and cutthroat community,” said Francesca Orsi, exec VP of HBO drama programming.

Succession is executive produced by Armstrong, Ferrell, Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roche and Scott Ferguson. Armstrong also serves as showrunner.
