HBO Nordic gets Bitten

HBO Nordic has picked up rights to Entertainment One (eOne) supernatural drama series Bitten, which will air on Syfy in the US and Space in Canada.

The 13×60’ werewolf-themed series, starring Laura Vandervoort, is due to premiere in 2014 but HBO Nordic has already taken the pay TV and SVoD rights for Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.

In addition, the broadcaster has picked up SVoD rights in those territories for the first three seasons of The Walking Dead, the first two seasons of Hell on Wheels, and The Firm.

Staying in Scandinavia, Turner has picked up pay TV rights to Canadian medical drama Saving Hope in Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

Meanwhile UKTV, RTL in Germany (pay TV), ProSiebenSat.1 in Germany (free-to-air) and Turkey’s D-Smart have also taken the long-running series.

EOne has also sold Klondike, Discovery’s first foray into the factual drama space, to Discovery Networks International’s channels in Latin America, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

And SBS Netherlands, Globosat in Brazil and Canal+ in Spain are among the broadcasters taking Dates, from Skins creator Bryan Elsley.
