HBO Nordic cracks 100 Code

MIPCOM: HBO Nordic has picked up pay and subscription VoD rights to an upcoming US-Scandinavian crime thriller series from Red Arrow International.

100 Code is the second show the broadcaster has taken from Red Arrow, following its acquisition of Amazon Studios-funded crime drama Harry Bosch. The deal covers Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway.

Pay TV rights to the drama have also been acquired by Iceland’s 365 Media, while MTG has licensed Danish free TV rights.

100 Code, which premieres in Scandinavia in early 2015, is being produced for SBS Discovery-owned Swedish net Kanal 5, with Sky Deutschland onboard for its first coproduction.

The thriller was developed by Red Arrow Entertainment’s LA-based scripted arm Fabrik Entertainment (The Killing) and Academy Award-winner Bobby Moresco (Crash, Million Dollar Baby). It is produced by 100 Code AB and Zen Productions (The Bible Code).

The 12-part drama is set in Sweden with a largely Swedish cast headed by Michael Nyqvist (The Millennium Series) and Dominic Monaghan (Lost), who plays an NYPD detective helping Stockholm’s police investigate a string of deaths. Moresco also directs several episodes.
