HBO Max staffs unscripted team

HBO Max, the forthcoming streaming platform from AT&T-owned WarnerMedia, has added three senior executives to its non-fiction team.

Lizzie Fox

Lizzie Fox, Rebecca Quinn and Brett Boydstun have been hired to oversee the operations of the non-fiction division, ahead of HBO Max’s launch next year.

Fox will serve as senior VP of non-fiction programming, while Quinn is appointed as VP of non-fiction original programming and Boydstun has been named senior VP of non-fiction production.

Rebecca Quinn

Fox joins HBO Max from WarnerMedia sibling CNN, where she was VP of original series, managing titles including docuseries United Shades of America and Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman’s decade-based collection of miniseries The Sixties, The Seventies, The Eighties and The Nineties.

Before working at CNN, Fox held roles at Sundance, Independent Film Channel and Viacom Productions.

Brett Boydstun

Quinn most recently headed development at Pulse Creative, under a deal at Lionsgate, where she exec produced shows such as Fox’s Kicking & Screaming and CBS’s Candy Crush. Prior to that, she served as supervising producer on programmes including NBC’s Deal or No Deal and Fear Factor.

Boydstun, meanwhile, was previously executive VP and head of production for Karga Seven Pictures, working on shows like JFK: Declassified and Hunting Hitler. He also previously worked in various roles at Pilgrim Studios.

“Non-fiction storytelling will be a crucial component to HBO Max and we now have the leadership and team in place to bring the best this genre has to offer to our offering,” said HBO Max chief content officer Kevin Reilly.
