HBO Max attends Trial of Christine Keeler

The Trial of Christine Keeler centres on a real-life political scandal

US streamer HBO Max has picked up BBC drama The Trial of Christine Keeler from distributor Keshet International (KI).

HBO Max has acquired exclusive US rights to the 6×60’ period drama about the infamous Profumo Affair sex scandal that rocked British politics in the 1960s.

Starring Sophie Cookson, James Norton, Emilia Fox, Ellie Bamber and Ben Miles, the series comes from Ecosse Films and Great Meadow Productions in partnership with Endeavor Content.

It was written by Bafta-winning novelist and screenwriter Amanda Coe and directed by Andrea Harkin.

HBO Max will debut the show on December 9 following the deal with KI, which has previously completed sales with parties including ABC in Australia, BBC First in Benelux and Africa, NPO in the Netherlands and Cosmo TV in Spain.
