HBO, Keshet link up for drama

US cablenet HBO is to coproduce a drama with Israeli producer and distributor Keshet International (KI)’s Keshet Studios based on real-life events that led to the 2014 conflict in Gaza.

The as-yet-untitled series was created by Hagai Levi, Joseph Cedar, Tawfik Abu Wael and Noah Stollman. Cedar and Abu Wael will direct the 10-episode series.

The show will be produced by Movie Plus and distributed internationally by KI. Avi Nir, Alon Shtruzman, Karni Ziv, Peter Traugott, Rachel Kaplan and Michael Lombardo will also serve as exec producers.

The drama follows the investigation into the kidnapping and murder of three Jewish teenagers, allegedly by Hamas militants, after which Israel sent troops into the disputed enclave of Gaza. It will be filmed on location in Israel.
