HBO doubles up Duplass’s Animals

US cablenet HBO is preparing a second season of its original animated comedy series Animals.

The show is produced by Duplass Brothers Productions and was created by Phil Matarese and Mike Luciano.

The second run, which shows creatures such as pigeons and rats reflecting on life in New York City, will debut on March 17.

HBO has global rights to the series, which was first shown at the Sundance Film Festival in 2015 and is exec produced by Mark and Jay Duplass.

The 10-part second season will also be available via on the cablenet’s HBO Now, HBO GO and HBO On Demand services.
