HBO claims Katims drama

US cablenet HBO has ordered a pilot for a relationship drama from Parenthood and About a Boy exec producer Jason Katims.

Us has been created and written by Katims and explores how seemingly unconnected events and people can be brought together resulting in love and relationships.

It’s being produced by Universal Television and Katim’s prodco True Jack Productions and marks his first high-end cable project following The Way, which is being produced for US streamer Hulu.

True Jack chief Michelle Lee is exec producing alongside Katims, who was behind Parenthood and About a Boy for NBC. He has also worked on shows including NBC’s Friday Night Lights, ABC’s Relativity and Boston Public for Fox.
