Gurin and Action Time in format swap

MIP NEWS – US producer Phil Gurin's first Mip has seen the man behind NBC's Weakest Link partner with UK distributor Action Time in a format rights double deal.

The Gurin Company has taken rights to produce US versions of Action Time's It's a Love Thing, a dating format {that doesn't pull its punches{ according to Gurin.

In return, Action Time has picked up worldwide rights ex-US to Gurin's Ransacked, a format in which four couples have their household possessions swiped one night; they then have to win better stuff or get their old stuff destroyed.

Gurin's recent Euro expansion plan has seen him partner with Zeal Television to distribute his 24 Hours format. Gurin also recently formed a jv with Jarowskij to make low-cost drama for US channels.
