Gunpowder, Tigerlily drama tackles banking

LA-based producer Gunpowder & Sky has partnered with Tigerlily Productions in the UK to develop a comedy about five women working in the world of corporate banking.

Assets follows five female interns in the male-dominated industry as they decide whether to fight, play or change the game as they struggle through a system which is designed against them.

The show, which is yet to have a broadcaster or streamer attached, is being executive produced by Natasha Dack, Nikki Parrott and Jennifer Monks for Tigerlily.

Parrot said the show had been inspired by the “dozens of shocking true accounts penned by women who had experienced the brutal world of high-stakes corporate banking.”

“We wanted to produce something upfront, honest, hilarious and challenging which would take the audience behind the NDAs and into the lives of the women who exist in this world,” she added.

Earlier this year Gunpowder & Sky partnered with director and producer Aengus James (American Harmony, I Am Jazz) on Vigilante, a documentary about a man’s attempts to bring his father’s killer to justice.

The company was founded by Van Toffler and Floris Bauer, in partnership with The Chernin Group and AT&T, and aims to create, market and distribute content “unrestricted by form, genre or platform” ranging from 90 seconds to 90 minutes long.

Tigerlily’s output covers scripted, factual and feature films, with forthcoming shows including a four-part drama written by David Farr (The Night Manager, Troy).
