GSN lines up High Noon gamer

Game Show Network (GSN) in the US has greenlit a new competition format from ITV-owned High Noon Entertainment.

The Line, hosted by Jeff Davis (Whose Line is it Anyway?) and Candace Bailey (Attack of the Show), invites hundreds of people to line up each day for a chance to win cash and prizes.

The goal is to get to the Trivia Vault at the front of the line, where each contestant can attempt to win the jackpot by answering eight questions, although many have an opportunity to play and win while waiting in line.

The order continues High Noon’s push into the game development space after the firm entered a first-looked partnership with Michael Dietz’s Lucky Butterfly Productions in April.

Dietz will exec produce alongside High Noon’s senior VP of development and production Patrick Jager and CEO Jim Berger.

High Noon, which was bought out by ITV Studios for US$26m last year, is also moving into the scripted space for the first time, with two drama projects in development.

The Line goes into production in Nashville on July 19.
