Grizzy & the Lemmings gets second run

Studio Hari’s Grizzy & the Lemmings

France Télévisions has ordered another batch of episodes of its successful France 3 animation series Grizzy & the Lemmings.

Paris-based producer Studio Hari has been given the greenlight to make another 78×7’ run of the show, taking the total number of episodes in the series to 156.

The slapstick comedy focuses on a bear and a gang of lemmings who live in a nature reserve and has previously sold to Canadian network Télé-Québec and Germany’s Super RTL.

Turner, which picked up the first season for its global Boomerang channel, has already pre-bought the second batch of episodes, as has Télé-Québec.

Studio Hari, which is run by Josselin Charier and Antoine Rodelet, set up an international sales division, run by former Gaumont Animation exec Adeline Tormo, to handle sales of Grizzy.

Buyers of the first season include VRT and RTBF in Belgium, NPO in the Netherlands, NRK in Norway, SVT in Sweden, YLE in Finland, RUV in Iceland, Puls TV in Poland, Modern Times Group in Latvia and Estonia, LRT in Lithuania, Pop in Slovenia, and Kids TV in Ukraine.

Tiphaine de Raguenel, director of youth activities at France Télévisions, said: “Grizzy & the Lemmings reinvents the codes of slapstick comedy and has enchanted our audience.”
