Great Pacific hires for scripted drive

Canada-based Great Pacific Media, the factual division of Thunderbird Entertainment Group, has appointed a head of scripted development.

Lindsay Macadam

TV and film producer Lindsay Macadam has joined the company in the new role as part of its plans to work with other Thunderbird divisions to develop scripted series and films based on factual events, both current and historical.

Macadam’s recent experience includes production credits on the CTV/NBC Universal scripted series Motive and the Netflix film Brain on Fire, which stars Chloë Grace Moretz.

Macadam will report to Mark Miller, president of Thunderbird Entertainment and CEO of its factual division, and Wendy McKernan, VP of Thunderbird’s factual division.

Thunderbird’s factual division currently produces the Discovery Canada series Highway Thru Hell and Heavy Rescue: 401, both of which also stream globally on Netflix. Other series include Save My Reno and Worst to First, which air on HGTV, and Queen of the Oil Patch, in production for APTN.

Thunderbird Entertainment Group is based in Vancouver and also has offices in LA, Toronto, Ottawa and London. The company develops, produces and distributes animated, factual and scripted content through its various divisions.

Thunderbird also has a division in the UK dedicated to establishing partnerships with production companies to develop its intellectual property and growth in key international territories. The UK arm is headed by Ed Sayer, formerly of National Geographic and Discovery Networks International.

“Lindsay brings a deep understanding of the creative, operational and financial aspects of scripted productions, having worked with many of the industry’s leading studios and broadcasters,” said Miller.
