GRB rejigs Lat Am sales team

US producer and distributor GRB Entertainment has appointed a former A+E Networks sales manager to oversee distribution in Latin America, US Hispanic, CEE, CIS and Spanish-speaking Europe.

Melanie Torres has joined GRB as director of international sales, having previously spent four years working between the New York and London offices of A+E Networks.

Torres worked across Latin America, US Hispanic, US Syndication, Canada, UK, Benelux, CEE and CIS. Torres began her TV career at BBC America assisting the head of distribution for Latin America.

Meanwhile, the company has promoted Liz Levenson to the role of VP, acquisitions and sales. Levenson has been with GRB for three years and before that held a director role at the company.

Levenson handles worldwide acquisitions for the international division and is responsible for sales in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

The move comes after GRB appointed Irwin Entertainment executive Danielle Abrams to oversee its development slate and recruited another former A+E exec, Marielle Zuccarelli, as its chief operating officer.

GRB is behind unscripted shows including Intervention for A&E and Untold Stories of the ER for TLC. It has also moved into scripted with teen comedy Bad Night for Netflix and Vimeo.
