Gracepoint is a 10-part version of ITV hit Broadchurch and stars David Tennant (Doctor Who), reprising his role from the UK original, and Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad).

Telefónica, which operates the Movistar España VoD service and this summer bought out the country’s leading pay TV provider, Canal Plus, has now picked up the series.

Gracepoint, which focuses on the investigation of the murder of a young boy, is made by Shine America, Kudos Film & TV and Imaginary Friends, and made its debut on Fox last week and was recently sold to Canada’s Global TV and Foxtel’s UnIversal Channel in the US.

It launches here in Cannes alongside ITV drama Grantchester (Lovely Day), which was recently acquired by SVT in Sweden, plus TV movie Catching Milat (Shine Australia) and BBC primetime series Our Girl (BBC Drama Production).
