Gordon Ramsay sends Fox to Hell

Gordon Ramsay in Costa Del Nightmares

Fox in the US has bought a new unscripted show from celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s production outfit, Studio Ramsay.

The network has picked up eight-part series Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell & Back, which sees the chef travel through the US to find struggling restaurants and turn them around in a single day.

Studio Ramsay will produce the series, with Ramsay, Michael Van Briesen, Studio Ramsay’s Chris Brogden and All3Media’s Layla Smith and Greg Lipstone exec producing.

It is the latest offering from multimedia production company Studio Ramsay as part of a joint venture with UK-based All3Media to develop and produce unscripted and scripted television shows relating to food.

The show will see Ramsay making the changes he deems necessary to turn a failing institution into a winner, and will include the use of his secret weapon, Hell on Wheels – a 70-foot long semi-truck that unfolds into a state-of-the-art mobile kitchen, where he’ll re-invent the struggling restaurant’s menu and whip the staff into shape.

Fox currently airs another of Studio Ramsay’s productions, The F Word with Gordon Ramsay, which debuted during the summer. His new documentary series, Gordon on Cocaine, will premiere this fall in the UK on commercial broadcaster ITV.
