Go90, Jukin announce This is Happening

This Is Happening focuses on major events that took place over the past 12 months

US-based viral video firm Jukin Media and Verizon’s premium mobile content service Go90 have launched a user-generated documentary series.

This Is Happening is executive produced by Jukin’s Jonathan Skogmo and Josh Entman, and producer/director Lauren Thompson.

The eight-episode show looks at the biggest cultural events of the past year through the point of view of user-generated footage.

From Hurricane Harvey to The Women’s March, each episode focuses on one major event that defined the cultural zeitgeist and examines three to four stories-within-a-story, with people on the ground sharing their experiences and footage.

“At Go90 we look for authentic entertainment that cuts above the clutter and Jukin Media expertly delivers on that and more,” said Ivana Kirkbride, Go90’s chief content officer.

“User-generated content will revolutionise the way contemporary events are documented and this series is one of the first examples of that,” added Skogmo, founder and CEO of Jukin Media.
