Global nets dive underwater with TVFI

Great Barrier Reef: A Living Treasure is narrated by Russell Crowe

Broadcasters and platforms including Australia’s Nine Network and Youku in China have picked up an underwater-themed wildlife series from London-based distributor TVF International (TVFI).

Nine Network and Youku have acquired blue-chip series Great Barrier Reef: A Living Treasure. Produced by RJ Media, the 4×60’ 8K series filmed the Australian ecosystem over four years and is narrated by actor Russell Crowe.

Other broadcasters and platforms to have picked up the series include DirecTV USA; Viasat World for CEE, the Nordics, Russia and CIS; National Geographic for Asia Pacific and MENA; Kultura in Russia; Brazil’s Globosat; Thailand’s MCOT; and FTV Prima in the Czech Republic.

DirecTV, National Geographic, Kultura, MCOT and Globosat have also acquired Ocean Wild, a 4×48’ 4K coproduction from TVFI and Tokyovision.

The series, which explores the varied underwater habitat of East Asia, has also been picked up by AMC Networks International Southern Europe’s Odisea/Odisseia, Telia Eesti in Estonia, Russian Extreme TV and Knowledge in Canada.

Finally, Ocean Predators (4×44’), from underwater cinematographer Kina Scollay, has been acquired by AMC’s Odisea/Odisseia, Bili Bili in China, Fim Plus in Vietnam, FTV Prima and Ceska Televize in the Czech Republic, Al Jazeera in the Middle East, Russian Extreme TV and JKN Global Media in Thailand.
