Gil Formats laughs all the way to Cannes

Israeli distributor Gil Formats has added an upbeat comedy competition format to its sales slate for Mipcom next month.

Laughing All The Way To The Bank gives contestants who believe they are funny the chance to win a cash prize during a car ride to their bank.

To win, they must make the TV channel’s accountant laugh out loud during the journey. The accountant, meanwhile, will be doing their best to keep a straight face and not spend the channel’s money.

Gil Formats’ original formats include Pregnant & Platonic, which launched this year on BBC2 in the UK and is currently being adapted by ITV for Nelonen in Finland, and Life on Duty, which aired for two seasons on Cuatro in Spain.
