Get Ace dealt second run

Network Ten in Australia has commissioned a second season of the animated kids’ series Get Ace from domestic prodco Galaxy Pop.

Melbourne-based Galaxy Pop will produce another 52 episodes of the toon, which follows the comic misadventures of a nerdy 12-year-old after he is accidentally fitted with some ultra high-tech braces. Production will begin in June this year.

The first season, which is distributed by Canada’s 9 Story Media Group, has become one of the best-performing shows on Network Ten’s youth-focused digital channel Eleven, according to Galaxy Pop.

International broadcasters to have picked up the first season so far include TVNZ in New Zealand, TVE in Spain, E Junior in the United Arab Emirates and Zoom in Israel, while it has also been taken by ABC in Australia.
