German presale for Sesame's first tween drama

MIPCOM NEWS – The first presale has come in for the children's drama Out There, a copro between Sesame Workshop, CBBC, ABC Australia and US kids network Noggin.

The 13×30' drama, previously known as Two Down Under, has been acquired by Germany's public network ZDF, and will arrive on-air in 2004. The buy came through ZDF's head of children's programmes, Susanne Muller.

The live-action series follows four teenagers who work in a vet clinic in the Australian outback. {In this difficult market, the sale of a new genre for us – tween drama – is a testament to the good work that Sesame Workshop does,{ said the Workshop's vp of global TV distribution, Jennifer Monier-Williams.
