George & George links with Baby Cow

George & George duo Vicki Pepperdine and Joanna Scanlan

Vicki Pepperdine and Joanna Scanlan’s UK production company George & George has forged a joint venture with fellow UK prodco Baby Cow.

George & George, which has also agreed a first-look deal with BBC Studios, was established through the writing and performing partnership of Pepperdine and Scanlan to champion women’s voices in TV and film.

The deal with Baby Cow will see the duo develop new comedy and drama shows with Steve Coogan and Christine Langan’s BBC-backed prodco Baby Cow over a three-year period.

The aim of the partnership is to capitalise on the duo’s writing and performing experience, using Baby Cow’s long track record of developing writing talent to develop new TV projects.

They will write, produce and perform their own material as well as commission others writing about good, bad, happy or sad female experiences.

Pepperdine and Scanlan have credits on numerous UK comedies including BBC show The Thick of It and have worked with Baby Cow on shows such as I’m Alan Partridge and Camping.

Langan, Baby Cow’s CEO, said the deal would “help these fantastically talented women get their ideas into production.”
