Genius links with Comcast, adds streaming

US children’s content firm Genius Brands International (GBI) has extended distribution of its preschool content with the launch of an online streaming service and a deal with Comcast.

Baby Genius shows, which comprise TV and audio content, will be available via the firm’s new website and will allow viewers to access content on mobile and digital devices. The library offers thousands of videos, including classic nursery rhymes and learning songs.

The firm has also extended its agreement with Comcast’s video portal Xfinity TV, which will allow customers to stream and download exclusive Baby Genius content across platforms.

Andy Heyward, chairman and CEO of GBI, said the popularity of mobile devices among young children had prompted the moves.

“The increased amount of time kids spend with these devices and the need for easy access to quality digital entertainment has never been greater,” he said. “Through these partnerships, we are making the entire Baby Genius library of award-winning content easily accessible to parents and young children, both on television, with Comcast, and online, through our new streaming service.”
