GBI scores bilingual soccer series

US children’s content firm Genius Brands International (GBI) has acquired a bilingual animated children’s series about a team of soccer-playing Colombian orphans.

LaGolda (6×20′) will debut later this month on GBI’s Kid Genius Cartoon Channel, which is available on OTT platforms such as Comcast’s Xfinity, Roku, Amazon Fire and Apple TV.

The series, produced in partnership with UnitedHealthcare’s Do Good, Live Well volunteer initiative, was created by Judy Reyes (Scrubs, Devious Maids) and her partner George Valencia.

It follows an eight-year-old girl from Colombia and her team of fellow orphans as they travel around the world to play soccer and raise awareness of issues that affect kids globally.
