Games Workshop, Spotnitz wield Warhammer

Eisenhorn is based on bestselling author Dan Abnett’s novels

Games manufacturer Games Workshop and Frank Spotnitz’s Big Light Productions are jointly producing a live-action science fiction drama series based on the Warhammer 40,000 franchise.

Spotnitz (The Man in the High Castle, The X-Files) will act as both showrunner and executive producer of Eisenhorn, which will be based on Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 games, miniatures and novels.

Drawing from sci-fi, fantasy and crime genres, Eisenhorn will see Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn and his band of investigators fight to thwart the monstrous schemes of aliens, heretics and daemons before mankind’s doom is sealed.

Originally published in 2001 by Black Library, Games Workshop’s publishing imprint, the books have been reprinted in multiple languages and sold over half a million copies globally.

Big Light Productions’ creative director, Emily Feller (Ordinary Lies, Trust Me, Medici), will also serve as an executive producer on the series.
